Program Manager

Lennea has worked in the Human Services field for the past 13 years, working diligently to support children, young adults, seniors, and members of the disability community in many different capacities.

After graduating from Shaw University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in May of 1999. Lennea started her professional journey in the classroom as a Special Education Long Term Substitute Teacher. During this period, she found herself not only educating and mentoring children from her local community but also encouraging and supporting their parents to become educated in school policies to improve their ability to self-advocate.

After 9 years in the classroom, Lennea chose a new professional challenge and transitioned to The Greater Bridgeport Area Prevention Program (GBAPP), as a Community-Based Life Skills Educator working closely with a wide variety of community agencies and State agencies, such as the Department of Children and Families, to assist young adults aging out of the Foster Care System to become prepared for independent living.

In 2007 Lennea started working with Acquired Brain Injury Waiver Participants as a residential specialist, providing Companion and ILST support. While in this field, in 2017 Lennea was promoted to the role of site supervisor where she gained knowledge and experience in case management, service design, and quality assurance.

In 2021 Lennea joined SLG as Program Manager, bringing her wealth of specialized knowledge, advocacy experience, and compassion to our ABI Waiver Participant population.
