Executive Director

Jamie Arber joined The Supported Living Group in 2017 as Director of Services and currently serves as Executive Director, bringing over a decade of executive leadership experience in the brain injury rehabilitation, disability, and neurodivergent support services field. Since 2010, Jamie has built a strong reputation across Connecticut as an innovative and forward-thinking leader in acquired brain injury (ABI) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) services, specializing in the development of community-based rehabilitation programs, supported living services, and vocational training for brain injury survivors. His work emphasizes person-centered care, community integration, and long-term stability for individuals with neurological and cognitive disabilities.

Jamie is widely recognized for designing and implementing holistic, consumer-centered brain injury support programs that promote independence, meaningful engagement, and improved quality of life. His leadership has contributed to the expansion of ABI Waiver services, private-pay brain injury supports, and creative vocational programming throughout Connecticut, positioning The Supported Living Group as a leader in community-based brain injury rehabilitation and support services.

Throughout his career, Jamie has cultivated strong collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders in the Connecticut human services system, including the Department of Social Services (DSS), Money Follows the Person (MFP), the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS), and the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS). He has also worked closely with leading rehabilitation providers such as The Hospital for Special Care and Gaylord Hospital, as well as case management organizations including Connecticut Community Care, the Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging, the Southwestern Connecticut Area Agency on Aging, and Independence Northwest. These partnerships support coordinated, high-quality care for individuals with brain injuries, neurological conditions, and complex behavioral health needs.

Jamie holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Psychology from the University of East London and a Master’s Degree in Community Psychology from the University of New Haven. He is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist Trainer (CBIS-T), trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR therapy), a Certified Clinical Hypnosis Consultant (C.C.H.), and a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist, further strengthening his expertise in trauma-informed care, grief and loss counseling, and neuropsychological recovery. His multidisciplinary clinical background enhances his ability to support individuals and families navigating brain injury recovery, trauma, and complex life transitions.

Jamie attributes his success to a steadfast commitment to person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based care, ensuring that individuals and their support systems remain at the forefront of all service delivery. His leadership style emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and empowerment, fostering an organizational culture where staff feel valued and inspired. This approach continues to drive The Supported Living Group’s mission to deliver high-quality, community-based brain injury and disability support services across Connecticut.
