Joseph R. Kierwiak IV
Program Manager
Joseph brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit operations, program coordination, and community engagement to his role as Program Manager at The Supported Living Group. A graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a degree in Anthropology, Joseph has spent the past decade leading and supporting mission-driven organizations across Connecticut and beyond.
In his current role with SLG, Joseph oversees individualized, community-based support programming for adults living with brain injury and neurodiversity. He is responsible for ensuring quality assurance, staffing consistency, and the delivery of person-centered services that promote safety, independence, and meaningful daily experiences. He works closely with service recipients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure programming reflects the goals and needs of each individual.
Before joining SLG, Joseph served in several leadership roles within Scouting America, overseeing large districts in Connecticut and Baltimore, managing volunteer networks, facilitating youth programs for thousands of families, and directing high-impact fundraising efforts. He also held the role of Project Coordinator at No Struggle No Success Inc., where he focused on systems development, community outreach, and reentry support for formerly incarcerated individuals.
Joseph’s deep commitment to service is evident in his volunteer work with the Rotary Club of Baltimore, the Berlin Historical Society, and the Ebenezer D. Bassett Memorial Committee. A recipient of both the Ebenezer D. Bassett Student Achievement Award and the Lt. Col. Thomas Knowlton Leadership Award, Joseph combines strong operational leadership with a deep sense of civic responsibility. At SLG, he helps shape programs that are grounded in person-centered values and sustainable community partnerships.
