Olivia Dorsey, OTD, OTR/L

Cognitive Behavioral Therapist

Olivia Dorsey is an experienced occupational therapist specializing in community-based practice. She earned a doctorate degree in occupational therapy from Tufts University in Somerville, MA. While completing her doctoral capstone, Olivia created an interactive database of mindfulness resources for students and teachers in a public school system. She also published research on the benefits of green space for mental well-being. Olivia currently serves as a doctoral capstone mentor for Tufts University occupational therapy students, with projects focusing on environmental modifications to reduce incident reports in a community-based mental health setting. Oliviapreviously completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. 

Through previous work experience, Oliviahas enhanced her understanding of community-based practice while working within the shelter system, transitional housing, adaptive sports, and home care. She has spent most of her professional career working with unhoused individuals in a community-based mental health setting in New York City. While at the Supported Living Group, Olivia will draw on her experience running groups, individual sessions, and community outings, with goals focused on promoting emotional regulation, community mobility/integration, ADLs/IADLs, leisure, and social participation. 

Olivia is passionate about using a creative approach to promoting autonomy, dignity, independence, and quality of life through person-centered care and interventions. She is excited to continue this passion while working with the Supported Living Group, an organization with similar goals and values.
